Job summary

One Ummah, based in Birmingham with offices in Middlesbrough and London, seeks an Operations Manager to lead the operations function across IT, HR and facilities. This full-time role reports to senior leadership and manages dedicated leads for Compliance, IT and Islamic Compliance.

You will oversee budgeting, risk registers and cross-departmental projects, ensuring regulatory alignment with UK charity rules and Islamic principles while supporting the organisation's international relief mission.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of management experience.
• Background in the UK charity sector with governance and regulatory knowledge.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.
• Valid UK driving licence.
• Competency in IT systems, budgeting, and staff management.
• Working understanding of basic Islamic teachings and values.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the organisation's IT infrastructure, HR processes, and facilities management.
• Maintain and update strategy documents and risk registers.
• Ensure compliance with UK charity regulations and Islamic principles.
• Manage the Operations team, including leads for Compliance, IT, HR, and Islamic Compliance.
• Lead or support major cross-departmental projects and initiatives.
• Partner with senior leadership to ensure organisational systems and processes remain fit for purpose.

The Operations Manager is a full-time, permanent position (40 hours/week) based in Birmingham, UK, with additional offices in Middlesbrough and London.### Role OverviewYou will lead One Ummah's operations function, reporting directly to senior leadership. The Operations team includes dedicated leads for Compliance, IT, HR, and Islamic Compliance, as well as contracted staff.
