As the Operations Manager, you will oversee, streamline, and optimise our operational processes, lead a talented team, and ensure we deliver results for our clients. This role is crucial to the growth and success of our organisation, requiring a blend of strategic planning and hands-on execution.
You will be a motivated Operations Manager with the ability to think strategically and align operational strategies with the company’s goals. This role requires a professional who can work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, with a willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if necessary.
Operational Oversight
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations to ensure smooth workflow.
- Develop, implement, and monitor operational policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with various departments for seamless operational integration.
Process Improvement
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions.
- Monitor operational performance metrics to drive efficiencies.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the operations team to achieve organisational goals.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.
Project Management
- Oversee multiple projects, defining scope, goals, and deliverables.
- Coordinate with project teams for successful execution.
Financial Management
- Develop and manage operational budgets for cost-effective operations.
- Monitor financial performance and implement cost controls.
- Prepare and present performance reports to senior management.
Compliance and Safety
- Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and policies.
- Develop and enforce health and safety standards.
Customer Focus
- Maintain high customer satisfaction levels.
- Resolve customer issues promptly and effectively.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Valid UK Driving Licence
- Excellent project management skills
- Commercial awareness
- Proven experience in managing people and client relationships
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
- Good communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proficiency in MS Office; ERP system knowledge is an advantage
- Experience in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to analyse data and recognise trends
- Good health and safety knowledge
- At least 5 years’ experience in Utility/Contractor business working with LV/HV/EHV apparatus
Desirable Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent professional qualification in a related field
