Job description

We’re actively seeking a Operations Manager to join us at The Royal Berkshire Hotel, Ascot.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Operations Manager will have a strong and proven hotel background, looking for the next step up.

With proven experience managing high-volume, multi-unit operations, the successful applicant will be responsible for all hotel operations on a day-to-day basis. Exceptionally strong leadership qualities are essential, with the ability to appreciate, manage, and work within a diverse property with high-volume conference and banqueting facilities.

Role Responsibility

  • Oversee and direct all aspects of hotel operations under the guidance of the General Manager within established policies and procedures.
  • Lead and develop direct reports, setting clear, measurable objectives aligned with the hotel’s strategy.
  • Drive revenue and exceed sales and profit targets.
  • Foster a sales-oriented culture across the operation.
  • Maintain high standards, monitor customer satisfaction, and develop loyalty and repeat business.
  • Exceed performance targets as measured by Review Pro statistics, after-stay emails, and customer feedback.
  • Deputise for the General Manager in their absence.
The Ideal Candidate

Our successful Hotel Operations Manager will have:

  • Experience managing departmental heads at a senior level.
  • Previous experience running food and beverage operations.
  • Understanding of front-of-house systems and procedures.
  • Ability to control payroll, liquor GP, and operational expenses.
  • Ability to drive sales and manage revenue.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts, including weekends.
  • High standards in customer service and guest interaction.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and solve problems proactively.
