Job Description:

Our hub in Stansted requires a qualified and motivated individual to join the operations maintenance team as a Skilled Technician.

The role involves ensuring all plant and equipment on site are repaired and serviced to recognized standards, following the preventative maintenance schedule to minimize downtime of sortation equipment.

The Operations Maintenance Technician role is challenging and requires excellent organizational and communication skills. Responsibilities include:

  • Organizing team maintenance and equipment to ensure safe and timely operation and maintenance of machinery
  • Monitoring staff attendance and taking remedial actions when necessary
  • Supervising maintenance performance and completing all required documentation
  • Monitoring workflow, identifying potential problems, and taking corrective actions
  • Collaborating with Depot and Operations Managers, Section Leaders, and Control Room
  • Ensuring smooth traffic flow across machinery with attention to Health and Safety
  • Completing nightly information recording sheets accurately
  • Adhering to operational and maintenance procedures as per the Group Operations Manual
  • Ensuring equipment is returned to designated areas and maintained in safe working order, with a system for reporting defects

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, organized, hold a City and Guilds Electrical/Mechanical engineering qualification, and possess:

  • Knowledge of 16th or 17th Edition electrical regulations
  • Proven electrical/mechanical maintenance experience
  • Ability to read electrical schematic drawings
