Job summary

EDF power solutions is seeking an O&M Manager to lead the day‑to‑day operation and maintenance of a growing portfolio of solar, storage and private wire assets across the UK and Ireland. You’ll manage safety, performance and contractor relationships while guiding strategic improvements.

This hybrid role offers a competitive salary, potential annual bonus and travel across the UK; you’ll set long‑term operational strategy, manage budgets and drive efficiency within a diverse renewable energy

Qualifications

• An IOSH or NEBOSH qualification, with a strong understanding of HSE legislation and industry standards
• A degree in engineering or a related discipline, or significant equivalent experience, alongside a solid understanding of electrical engineering principles.
• Proven experience in operation and maintenance, including delivering operational performance improvements
• Experience in High Voltage and Low Voltage operating procedures and safety rules, or equivalent industry standards
• Experience managing contracts, operational budgets and cost control activities
• Experience leading teams, including setting objectives and managing performance
• A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel throughout the UK as required

• Leading, developing and motivating a team to create a high-performing, collaborative and safety-focused culture
• Managing the safe and efficient delivery of operations and maintenance activities across solar, storage and private wire assets
• Working closely with asset management, engineering and technical teams to optimise asset performance
• Managing relationships with O&M providers, contractors, OEMs and network operators
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental and regulatory requirements
• Planning and managing operational and maintenance budgets
• Leading audits, inspections and improvement initiatives across the portfolio
• Supporting the development and implementation of operational strategies and procedures
• Managing asset-specific projects and major maintenance campaigns
• Identifying opportunities to improve operational performance, reliability and efficiency

As our O&M Manager – Solar, Storage and Private Wire, you’ll play a key role in delivering safe and efficient operations, leading talented teams, managing critical contractor relationships, and helping maximise the performance of renewable assets that support our net zero ambitions.

The Opportunity

As O&M Manager – Solar, Storage and Private Wire, you’ll lead the day-to-day operation and maintenance of a growing renewable energy portfolio. You’ll work closely with contractors and internal teams to ensure high standards of health and safety, operational performance and compliance across our solar, storage and private wire assets.

Alongside a competitive salary and potential for an annual bonus, this is a hybrid role with flexible home working. You'll be expected to travel across the UK & Ireland to attend events and support EDF power solutions assets as required, with opportunities to collaborate with colleagues across locations including #Durham, #London, #Edinburgh and #Cardiff.

You’ll have the opportunity to set long-term operational strategy, drive continuous improvement initiatives, manage significant operational budgets, and support the growth of one of the UK and Ireland’s most diverse renewable energy portfolios.
