Job summary

EDF power solutions is seeking an O&M Manager to lead day‑to‑day operations across solar, storage and private wire assets. You’ll travel across the UK & Ireland, manage contractor relationships and drive safety, performance and compliance.

The role offers hybrid working and a path toward significant portfolio growth. You’ll set long‑term operational strategy, control budgets and support the company’s ambition to reach 10GW by 2035, while working with cross‑functional teams to optimise

Qualifications

• IOSH or NEBOSH qualification required with strong HSE knowledge.
• Degree in engineering or related discipline, or significant equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in operation and maintenance with performance improvements.
• Experience with High Voltage and Low Voltage operating procedures and safety rules.
• Experience managing contracts, budgets and cost control.
• Experience leading teams and setting objectives.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to travel across the UK.

• Lead audits, inspections and improvement initiatives across the portfolio.
• Develop and implement operational strategies and procedures.
• Manage asset-specific projects and major maintenance campaigns.
• Identify opportunities to improve reliability, performance and efficiency.

As our O&M Manager - Solar, Storage and Private Wire, you'll play a key role in delivering safe and efficient operations, leading talented teams, managing critical contractor relationships, and helping maximise the performance of renewable assets that support our net zero ambitions.

The Opportunity

As O&M Manager - Solar, Storage and Private Wire, you'll lead the day-to-day operation and maintenance of a growing renewable energy portfolio. You'll work closely with contractors and internal teams to ensure high standards of health and safety, operational performance and compliance across our solar, storage and private wire assets.

Alongside a competitive salary and potential for an annual bonus, this is a hybrid role with flexible home working. You'll be expected to travel across the UK & Ireland to attend events and support EDF power solutions assets as required, with opportunities to collaborate with colleagues across locations including #Durham, #London, #Edinburgh and #Cardiff.

Who You Are

We're looking for an O&M Manager with strong experience in renewable energy. You'll be a confident leader, capable of managing operational risks, contractor performance and technical teams while maintaining a strong focus on safety, compliance and continuous improvement. To be shortlisted, you need to offer

• An IOSH or NEBOSH qualification, with a strong understanding of HSE legislation and industry standards
• A degree in engineering or a related discipline, or significant equivalent experience, alongside a solid understanding of electrical engineering principles.
• Proven experience in operation and maintenance, including delivering operational performance improvements
• Experience in High Voltage and Low Voltage operating procedures and safety rules, or equivalent industry standards
• Experience managing contracts, operational budgets and cost control activities
• Experience leading teams, including setting objectives and managing performance
• A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel throughout the UK as required
