What you'll be doing:

To organise and supervise the unit according to the standards required by Compass Group UK & Ireland, the contract specification, and statutory regulations. Responsible for the overall efficient and effective management of the unit, providing a quality service. Oversee the preparation, cooking, and service of food to agreed standards and specifications. Ensure the efficient and economical use of all resources, including stock, team members, and company assets.

Who you are:

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide guidance and take a strategic approach to managing the business through your team.
  • Previous contract catering experience.
  • Communicate, motivate, and guide your management team and catering staff daily. Set clear operational responsibilities and monitor performance.
  • Take overall responsibility for food and health and safety procedures in the catering department.
  • Maintain regular communication with the client.
  • Complete action plans following customer satisfaction surveys.
  • Promote the unit and act as a Compass Group advocate.
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders effectively.
  • Ensure all client hospitality is delivered to the standard and seek feedback.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the service and discuss with your line manager.
  • Bring innovation and flair.
  • Operate within the budget, monitor trends, and take corrective actions if necessary.
  • Ensure all customer requirements are met in line with expectations.
