We have an opportunity for an Operations Finance Manager to join our Finance Team.
Finsbury Food Group is a leading speciality bakery manufacturer. We constantly raise quality and efficiency standards, and build long-term relationships with major multiple retailers and the foodservice channel. Established in 1985, Kara offers a wide range of quality sweet and savoury bakery products, including both gourmet butter and vegan brioche buns, doughballs and teacakes. The Kara Bakery can bake over 1 million baps and burger buns every day.
The Operations Finance Manager's role is to business partner site-based functions, as well as wider central functions, to help drive EBITDA growth and optimise business performance - Support, challenge and advise to ensure targets are correctly set, measured accurately, performance is met, and costs are controlled.
The successful candidate will be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with experience in FMCG or food manufacturing; team management; previous operations and/or logistics finance role; TM1 and/or M3 systems experience is desirable.
This role offers hybrid working but predominantly office based in Manchester with regular travel required to Sheffield. Travel may also be required to other offices in the group (Glasgow, Cardiff or Salisbury) for meetings which could be weekly or monthly, depending on the requirement.

As the Operations Finance Manager they will business partner the site lead and wider leadership team providing analysis, support and guidance on any area of work impacting the operations team and ensure accurate weekly and monthly management information is generated and communicated to all stakeholders, co-ordinating input from the broader Finance team as required. They will also ensure that all operational finance activities are compliant with Group internal controls and delegated authorities.
With strong communication skills they will work closely with budget holders to manage, control and challenge overhead spend They will also challenge and support the continuous improvement journey, providing robust financial analysis and justification of cost savings.
The Operations Finance Manager will be the initial gatekeeper of the capital process - supporting investment appraisals both pre and post capex - monthly reporting & forecasting process, ensuring robust controls are in place to manage spend and track benefits in line with budget / business case. They will own the quarterly P&L re-forecasts and annual budgets / standard setting processes across relevant manufacturing sites. They will also Finance support for weekly/monthly paid payroll, ensuring accuracy and robustness of process.
