Job summary

Finsbury Food Group in Coatbridge is seeking an Operations Finance Manager to be the trusted finance partner for the site, owning financial reporting, forecasting and month-end processes while supporting operational teams with insightful analysis.

You will lead a small team, work with the Site Lead and leadership on cost control, capital investment, and continuous improvement initiatives to drive efficiencies and best practice across the business.

Qualifications

• ICAS, ACCA or CIMA qualification is essential.
• Experience in FMCG, food manufacturing or similar manufacturing environment.
• Strong experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial control.
• Solid understanding of manufacturing cost drivers and operational performance.
• Experience working with operational stakeholders and providing financial insight.
• Analytical skills to identify risks, opportunities and continuous improvement.
• Ability to balance strategic initiatives with day-to-day support.
• Experience managing or developing team members.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive and focused on improving business performance.

Responsibilities

• Own site financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting and month-end processes.
• Monitor costs, payroll, stock, cash, EBITDA and capital expenditure; identify risks and opportunities.
• Support operational teams with financial analysis and performance improvement.
• Work with Site Lead and leadership to drive decisions and improve financial outcomes.
• Contribute to strategic projects, capital investment proposals and continuous improvement.
• Maintain strong financial controls and provide clear guidance to finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Manage and develop one direct report; coach and lead a high-performing team.

Job description

As Operations Finance Manager, you will be the trusted finance partner for the Coatbridge site, providing meaningful financial insight that helps operational teams make informed business decisions. You will take ownership of the site's financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting and month-end processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial information is delivered to support business performance. You will monitor key financial metrics including costs, payroll, stock, cash, EBITDA and capital expenditure, identifying risks and opportunities while supporting operational teams with financial analysis and performance improvement. Working closely with the Site Lead and wider leadership team, you will use your financial and operational understanding to support decisions, improve financial outcomes and help deliver site objectives. You will also contribute to strategic projects, capital investment proposals and continuous improvement initiatives, helping drive efficiencies, automation and best practice across the business. Alongside your business partnering responsibilities, you will maintain strong financial controls, ensure compliance with internal processes, and provide clear financial guidance to both finance and non-finance stakeholders. You will also take responsibility for managing and developing one direct report, providing coaching, support and leadership while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment. • Previous finance experience within FMCG, food manufacturing or a similar manufacturing environment (essential)
• Strong experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial control

• Experience working closely with operational stakeholders and confidently providing financial insight and challenge at all levels
