Qualifications

  • Part/fully qualified accountant (i.e. ACCA/CIMA) or qualified by experience.
  • Essential experience in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in FMCG or food manufacturing industry beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Support preparation of the weekly P&L reports and monthly management accounts.
  • Prepare and post accurate month end journals including site accruals and prepayments.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.

We have an opportunity for an Operations Finance Analyst to join our Operations Finance Team to support our sites in Coatbridge and East Kilbride.

The Operations Finance Analyst will play a key role in providing timely, accurate and robust financial analysis for the Johnstone's and Lees operational teams, enabling them to identify and track cost saving opportunities and financial risks, make financially sound decisions and deliver on their strategic objectives.

This is a fast-paced role, where the successful candidate will be part/fully qualified accountant (i.e. ACCA/CIMA) or qualified by experience with essential experience in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

This role offers hybrid working based at our Coatbridge and East Kilbride sites, with a requirement to be on-site at least 3 days per week. On occasion you will be required to attend one of our other sites (Manchester, Sheffield, Glasgow, Cardiff or Salisbury) depending on the requirement.

This is what you'll actually do!

As Operations Finance Analyst they will support the Operations Finance Manager in the preparation of the weekly P&L reports and monthly management accounts, reporting of daily Operational Finance KPIs, highlighting key drivers of material and labour variances and helping to identify performance trends. They will prepare and post accurate month end journals - including site accruals and prepayments, intercompany recharges and payroll.

They will reconcile payroll reports to amounts recognised in the site P&Ls and prepare detailed overheads analysis to support budget holders in managing departmental spend. They will also assist the Operations Finance Manager in the preparation of annual budget and quarterly forecasts as well as participating in site cost saving initiatives- providing project owners with robust financial support, governance and challenge.

Ideally this is you!

  • Part/fully qualified accountant (i.e. ACCA/CIMA) or qualified by experience
  • Degree in accountancy or similar relevant qualification
  • Excellent Excel and financial modelling skills
  • Experience in using accounting software and integrated ERP systems
  • Able to prioritise multiple tasks effectively and work to tight deadlines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills - ability to liaise with both finance and non-finance stakeholders across the business
  • Experience in FMCG or food manufacturing industry beneficial but not essential
