My Client is recruiting for an Operations Engineer in the Water Sector.

Location: Field-based around North West (ideal location M6 - Preston)

Contract: Permanent, Full-time, 37.5 hours

If so, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading, well-respected water technologies company. You will play a pivotal role in delivering top-quality service to our customers, providing on-site corrective and preventative maintenance, as well as after-sales technical and commercial support to existing water treatment chemical clients.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Developing and maintaining good relationships with customers.
  • Providing service, chemical treatment analysis, monitoring, and account management for existing customers and contracts.
  • Ensuring Legionella control and customer compliance with ACOP L8.
  • Recommending best practices to customers.
  • Preparing for client review meetings by gathering relevant information.
  • Reviewing site water services risk assessments.
  • Gathering site information, maintaining, and auditing site log books for customers.
  • Initiating water treatment programs on new accounts and commissioning new dosing/control installations.
  • Completing risk assessments, work reports, and other documentation.
  • Identifying opportunities to sell parts, consumables, plant upgrades, and refurbishment work in collaboration with the sales team.
  • Providing feedback to customers on future product development and features.
  • Updating line managers on issues impacting the company and ensuring high-quality service delivery.
General requirements:
  • A HNC/degree or similar in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or equivalent experience.
  • GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Knowledge and experience of chemical water treatment (Cooling Tower, Boiler Water Treatment, Legionella Awareness).
  • Experience as an Operations/Service Engineer, Technical Support role, or laboratory experience.
  • A passion for providing excellent customer service.
  • Ability to handle challenging conversations and find resolutions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience building strong internal and external relationships.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
