Turner & Townsend is on the lookout for dedicated and skilled Chartered Civil Engineers to enhance our team working on high-profile DBFO (Design-Build-Finance-Operate) contracts within Scotland’s transport infrastructure. This is a unique opportunity for professionals who thrive in managing critical infrastructure projects, ensuring both operational excellence and strategic alignment with our key clients.

Responsibilities

As an Operations Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in our dynamic team, ensuring the efficient execution and compliance of contractual obligations under the Performance Audit Group Scotland contract. Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Acting as the management agent, carrying out duties delegated by the employer as per contractual terms.
  • Overseeing the construction, management, and maintenance of Scotland’s trunk road network.
  • Engaging with multiple stakeholders to ensure contract compliance and performance optimisation.
  • Preparing high-quality reports and leading various meetings to review operations and maintenance strategies.

Qualifications

  • Chartered Civil Engineer or equivalent Chartered professional.
  • Proficiency in managing contractual and commercial issues related to road network operations.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance, contractual, and commercial frameworks in large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and collaborative skills.
  • BEng in Engineering or related field; master’s degree preferred.
  • Considerable experience in the construction, management, and maintenance of road networks, particularly in a DBFO contract setting.
  • Proven record in operational and maintenance management of major road networks.
  • Experience in auditing, monitoring, and reporting on infrastructure projects is highly advantageous.

Additional Information

SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
