RHAELM, headquartered in London, seeks an experienced Operations professional to build the foundational governance, change management, and reporting platforms for a growing cloud infrastructure business. You will work hands-on to implement ITIL-aligned processes and scalable documentation.
Reporting to the Global Director of Operations, this interim role offers scope to shape the organisation and grow into broader leadership as frameworks mature, with travel across EMEA/APAC and presence in the
RHAELM is the sovereign AI cloud built to accelerate secure AI deployment at scale, combining power and infrastructure pipelines with global capability and local, in-country operations. Headquartered in London, with deployments across Europe and APAC, we deliver ring-fenced compute, networking, and storage infrastructure alongside a sovereign platform and flexible Bare Metal, Kubernetes, and AI-as-a-Service models. Focused on regulated and mission-critical sectors including Government, Defence, Healthcare, and Financial Services, we give organisations sovereign control over their AI infrastructure, platform, and data.
Our Operations organisation is moving to a long-term structure. Reporting, change control, documentation, compliance, project delivery and continuous improvement need to be built from the ground up, along with the tooling they run on. You will be the hire who builds them.
Reporting directly to the Global Director of Operations, you will start as a hands-on builder, not a manager of managers. You will put in place the frameworks and platforms the whole Operations team will rely on. As those frameworks mature and dedicated functions are hired beneath you, the role has clear potential to grow into broader leadership. The shape of that growth will depend on what you build and what the organisation needs. This is an interim role, with travel across EMEA and APAC and team presence in the UK, Poland and Japan.
Build the reporting and dashboard suite that gives the Global Director of Operations, the SVP of Operations and executive leadership real-time visibility across every Operations function
Design and stand up RHAELM’s first change management framework, including approval workflow and a Change Advisory Board (CAB), and run the CAB directly
Create the documentation approach from scratch: repository structure, ownership, templates and review cadence, supported by training and onboarding materials
Establish an ITIL-aligned incident and problem management process, using Support’s existing ticket flow as the starting reference point
Work with the business compliance team to build an operational compliance and audit-readiness programme, including DR testing and compliance dashboards
Define a lightweight, repeatable project delivery methodology and manage the first cohort of Operations projects under it
Launch a continuous improvement practice that feeds back into every framework you build
Select, deploy and drive org-wide adoption of the ITSM, knowledge-base, reporting and project tracking platforms
Partner with the Global Directors of Support and IT, and advise on when each function justifies its own dedicated hire
Document every framework so future dedicated managers can pick it up without relying on you
6+ years in operations, programme or project management, or a related discipline
Hands-on experience in at least three of: change management, documentation and knowledge management, incident and problem management (ITIL), compliance and audit-readiness, project delivery, or reporting and analytics
A track record of building processes or frameworks from scratch, not only operating within established ones
Experience selecting, deploying and driving adoption of operational tooling such as ITSM, knowledge-base, BI or GRC platforms
Experience reporting to, and delivering against the priorities of, a functional director
Background in a hosting, data centre, cloud infrastructure or managed services environment is a strong plus
Strong written communication: frameworks, playbooks, dashboards and training materials that others will rely on
Comfort with ambiguity and a wide, evolving scope, and the judgement to flag when a function has outgrown a single owner
Hands-on, builder mentality, with a documentation-first and data-driven approach
Stakeholder management across senior, cross-functional and international teams
Familiarity with bare metal, Kubernetes and GPU/AI hosting environments (desirable)
Polish and/or Japanese language skills (desirable)
ITIL, PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent change and project management certification (desirable)
Compliance or audit credentials (desirable)
