Job description

Operations Director - Manufacturing background preferred (22704) Surrey, England

My client is currently recruiting for a very experienced Operations Director who, if successful, will assume responsibility for the following areas:

  1. Management of sites both in the UK and Europe
  2. Providing strategic leadership and operational oversight
  3. Developing future strategies to fully achieve all operational and financial objectives
  4. Ensuring growth across all facilities
  5. Overseeing a high-performance culture and enabling continuous improvement
  6. Ensuring manufacturing excellence, supply chain efficiency, and strict adherence to all regulatory standards
  7. Managing P&L, budgets, and all related financial metrics
  8. Overseeing cost control measures and seeking margin improvements where possible
  9. Optimizing processes and procedures
  10. Driving forward ongoing improvements in efficiency and productivity
  11. Forecast management

The successful candidate will also be responsible for providing commercial leadership which will include:

  1. Developing, maintaining, and building relationships with global customers
  2. Identifying new business opportunities
  3. Providing overall leadership to 300 plus staff across various UK and Europe-based sites
  4. Staff recruitment and retention

To be considered for this position you will need to be able to demonstrate the following:

  1. The ability to commute to the Surrey-based offices at least three to four days a week
  2. Traveling to European-based manufacturing concerns
  3. Extensive previous experience as a senior leader in a manufacturing environment
  4. Multi-site operational experience
  5. Customer-centric approach
  6. Commercially astute
  7. Strong awareness and exposure to improvement methodologies
  8. Proven leadership skills, the ability to inspire and manage
