Who Will You Work With:

Our client is a reputed name in the insurance sector, with a strong focus on the Life & Pensions domain. You will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and senior leadership, overseeing key operations across onshore and offshore functions. This role plays a vital part in the strategic direction and client relationship management for major accounts in the insurance vertical.

About the Role:

As Operations Director – Insurance, you will be responsible for driving operational excellence, managing key client relationships, and leading the transformation of service delivery within the Life & Pensions portfolio. You will oversee a wide range of functional areas including contact centres, client finance, actuarial, and quality assurance, while ensuring continuous improvement across onshore and offshore operations.

This is a hybrid role based in Romford, UK, with flexibility to work both remotely and on-site as needed. The position offers a competitive salary, open for discussion based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as the strategic point of contact for client relationships in the Life & Pensions domain.

Lead end-to-end delivery of client operations including onshore and offshore teams.

Drive continuous improvement and transformation initiatives aligned with multi-year plans.

Own delivery outcomes across contact centre, finance, actuarial, and IQA functions.

Manage large teams (up to + direct and indirect reports).

Identify new business opportunities and revenue streams within existing client accounts.

Deliver on cost optimization and profitability targets.

Support the modernization of products and technology estates.

Present quarterly and annual performance reports to stakeholders.

Ensure high client satisfaction through regular reviews and engagement.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

+ years of relevant experience, with a strong background in insurance operations (Life & Pensions).

Proven track record in client engagement, delivery management, and business growth.

Strong leadership and people management skills with experience leading large teams.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and strategic planning abilities.

Familiarity with client-side technology transformation and process improvement.

Ability to work in a matrix environment and manage cross-functional teams.

Commercially astute with the ability to manage P&L and drive profitability.
