Job description

Bennett and Game are currently working with a leading, employee-owned remediation contractor who is looking for an Operations Director to join their senior leadership team. Our client specializes in Onsite Waste Management & Disposal, Enabling works & Onsite Waste Treatment, and Innovative Design Led Solutions to the many challenges contaminated land sites present.


The Operations Director is responsible for overseeing project health and safety, operational delivery, commercial oversight, procurement, resource planning, programme management, and business development. They will work closely with senior leadership to drive operational efficiency and business growth.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure strict compliance with health and safety regulations across all projects.
  2. Oversee project execution, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
  3. Manage budgets, financial reporting, and cost control to maintain profitability.
  4. Oversee procurement, supplier negotiations, and contract management.
  5. Allocate resources effectively, collaborating with the Technical Director.
  6. Develop and maintain project programmes to align with client and business objectives.
  7. Lead tendering and bid preparation, supporting business growth through lead generation.
  8. Recruit, mentor, and develop operational teams.
  9. Build and maintain strong client relationships and represent the company in industry forums.
  10. Support strategic growth, working towards PRL board appointment.

Key Performance Indicators:
  1. 100% health and safety compliance across all projects.
  2. On-time, within-budget project delivery.
  3. Achieving target margins and cost savings.
  4. Successful procurement and resource allocation.
  5. Growth through tender wins and lead generation.

Regular reporting to the Managing Director on operational performance.
