Building Careers UK Ltd is seeking an experienced Operations Director to provide strategic and operational leadership across the construction function in the Northwest region of the UK. The role involves leading Contracts Managers and operational teams, ensuring delivery targets, quality and safety across a varied portfolio of projects.

Qualifications

• Significant experience at Operations Director or equivalent level within a main contracting environment.
• Strong track record of leading operational teams and overseeing multiple construction projects.
• Ability to build strong working relationships across Commercial, Design and Pre-Construction functions.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across the construction function.
• Lead and manage Contracts Managers, and operational teams.
• Oversee the performance of multiple projects, ensuring programmes, quality, health & safety and delivery targets are achieved.
• Ensure projects are appropriately resourced and effectively managed from pre-construction through to completion.
• Provide clear direction and support to the operational team, ensuring consistency across project delivery.
• Work closely with Commercial, Design and Pre-Construction teams to ensure projects are properly planned and set up for delivery.
• Review construction programmes, methodologies and delivery strategies.
• Monitor operational performance and identify areas for improvement across the business.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and other key stakeholders.
• Report regularly to the board members on operational performance, project delivery and potential risks.
• Contribute to the continued development of the company's operational structure, processes and delivery standards.

A long-established main contractor with a strong reputation for delivering projects across a range of sectors is looking to appoint an experienced Operations Director as part of the continued development of the business.

The company has a well-established presence across the region and delivers a varied portfolio of construction projects, working with a mix of public and private sector clients. With a strong pipeline of work and several key frameworks and repeat client relationships, the business has built a solid position within the Northwest construction market.

The Role

About You

Experience managing and developing Contracts Managers and operational teams is important, as is the ability to build strong working relationships across Commercial, Design and Pre-Construction functions.
