Operations Director Children s Residential Services

Location: Blackpool (Head Office based)
Salary: £75,000 - £85,000 + Benefits
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

We are proud to be partnering with a respected and values-led children s residential care provider to recruit an exceptional Operations Director to join their senior leadership team.

This is a pivotal opportunity for an experienced and compassionate leader to take strategic responsibility for a portfolio of children s homes, driving service excellence and inspiring high-performing teams to deliver outstanding care and support for vulnerable young people.

The Role

As Operations Director, you will oversee the operational management of multiple children s homes, ensuring services are safe, compliant, and delivering exceptional outcomes. Reporting into the executive team, you will play a critical role in the strategic growth and development of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support Registered Managers to deliver high-performing, fully compliant services.
  • Ensure consistent delivery of care that meets and exceeds Ofsted standards, with a focus on achieving Good and Outstanding outcomes.
  • Implement operational strategies that enhance service quality, staff development, and child-centred practice.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and therapeutic care.
  • Contribute to business growth, including the opening of new services.

Candidate Profile

We re looking for a highly experienced and emotionally intelligent leader with:
  • Significant senior management experience in children s residential care or a similar regulated environment.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding, Children s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
  • Proven success in leading multi-site operations and achieving regulatory excellence.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Passion, integrity, and a child-first approach.
