Role
The Operations Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing the group’s compliance with SWIFT, BACS, FINMA, FCA and Pay.UK obligations. As a subject matter expert on the group’s compliance requirements in this area, you will work with team members across the group to drive compliance initiatives, best practice standards, and audits. The Operations Compliance Manager will play a key role in advising on strategic approach, contractual requirements, auditing processes, and supporting cross-functional teams in maintaining regulatory compliance.
What you’ll contribute
- Develop, implement, and manage the organization’s compliance framework for SWIFT, BACS, FINMA, FCA and Pay.UK obligations.
- Monitor compliance with applicable SWIFT, BACS, FINMA, FCA and Pay.UK obligations, regulations, and industry standards from a legal perspective.
- Understand contractual and regulatory requirements to FCA, BACS, SWIFT, FINMA and Pay.UK and perform risk assessments to identify and prioritise key business risks.
- Assess the effectiveness of internal controls by reviewing processes, documentation, and procedures to ensure accuracy and adherence to requirements.
- Provide counsel and training to internal stakeholders on SWIFT, BACS, FINMA, FCA and Pay.UK obligations, policies, and best practices.
- Establish and enforce legal policies and procedures for alignment with SWIFT, BACS, FINMA, FCA and Pay.UK requirements.
- Serve as the primary legal point of contact for SWIFT, BACS, FINMA, FCA and Pay.UK in relation to regulatory issues.
- Lead incident response efforts related to breaches, including investigation, reporting, and mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with legal, product, technical, cybersecurity, and business teams to ensure a compliant approach in all operations and initiatives.
- Monitor emerging trends and legislative developments to anticipate and address compliance risks.
- Assist with internal and external audits and ensure timely remediation of identified issues.
- Conduct horizon scanning of future compliance issues to proactively address regulatory changes.
- Provide updates to Audit Committee detailing audit findings, recommendations, and potential impact to the business.
- Track corrective actions implemented by Audit Committee to address audit findings and ensure ongoing compliance.
- Review relevant policies annually and update to ensure compliance with current legal and regulatory standards and best commercial practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience overseeing global compliance requirements specifically for the payments and banking sector.
- Appropriate technical knowledge with SWIFT, BACS, FINMA, FCA and Pay.UK obligations, industry standards, policies and audits.
