Job summary

Saab UK is seeking an Operations Manager for the Bedford BlueBear business. You will provide governance, compliance, trials and business coordination across the organisation to continuously improve operations.

The role requires strong leadership, experience implementing quality management systems (ISO 9001) and risk management, plus awareness of export control and UK MOD requirements. NSV clearance to SC level is a must.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership and change-management experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience implementing risk management policies and business continuity plans.
• Experience implementing ISO 9001 quality management systems.
• ISO 27001 experience desirable.
• Awareness of UK export control, H&S and environmental management.
• Defence industry and UK MOD exposure desirable.
• Applicants must be able to obtain NSV clearance to SC level.

Responsibilities

• Drive continuous improvement across the organisation to high standards.
• Lead standardisation and compliance with the quality management system.
• Be main point of contact for export control, health & safety, and security.
• Develop and track KPIs to support the Strategic Business Plan.
• Implement processes to capture customer feedback and communicate changes.
• Promote Operational Excellence throughout the organisation.
• Coordinate internal and external audit activities.
• Act as Risk and Opportunity Coordinator and lead business continuity activities.
• Coordinate export control compliance ensuring adequate resources and processes.
• Oversee implementation of new compliance standards and tools.
• Capture internal feedback to drive continuous improvements.
• Deliver training on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Champion information management within BlueBear.
• Support project activity and manage the Facility Coordinator.
