Qualifications

The team

The Operations team currently consists of teams in London, Paris and New York. The London office hosts 4 people and is looking to grow. There are 2 associates in Paris, and 2 in New York. It supports a busy equity trading environment throughout the whole lifecycle of trade, including client on-boarding, middle office, trade support and settlement liaison with clients and out-sourced settlement agents. As the team is the central point of contact for all client, market and trade support queries, a high level of performance and a client service mentality are required.

The role

This is a diverse and challenging role to cater for increased trade volumes, Regulatory Reporting requirements across both UK, EU and FINMA environments, greater scope of responsibilities within the team and additional complexity. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Regulatory Reporting (Transaction Reporting, Trade Reporting)
  2. Reconciliations and exception management
  3. Reference data set up / maintenance as required
  4. Order exception management – exception resolution using Ullink
  5. Trade booking and confirmation via Fidessa CTAC system
  6. Client liaison for all confirmation and settlement queries
  7. Confirmation timeliness and STP exception monitoring
  8. Settlement monitoring and exception resolution through liaison with clients and agent

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  1. At least three to five years’ experience in the financial industry
  2. The ability to communicate complex issues in clear and concise terms to a broad audience. In particular the ability to work closely with the trade desk and communicate effectively in a time sensitive environment.
  3. Knowledge of equity products and the regulatory requirements for Transaction Reporting to both the FCA and EU.
  4. Excellent knowledge of front to back trade flows
  5. Knowledge or experience using Fidessa, Ullink (Itiviti), Bloomberg EMSX
  6. Settlements experience preferable
  7. The ability to operate in a dynamic and fast paced environment of growth and change
  8. A desire to learn, natural enthusiasm and be keen to be part of a growing team
  9. Graduate level education
  10. Good knowledge of Excel, Word and other software packages
  11. Experience of working under pressure
  12. Experience of working with clients/customers
