About Shellworks

Developed for a throwaway culture, plastics have caused significant pollution to our natural environments. 90% of all plastics ever created have never been recycled, causing widespread pollution and health impacts from chemicals and microplastics.

We believe there must be a better way and our first innovation Vivomer does just that, if nature made a plastic this would be it. Vivomer, a polymer made by microorganisms, behaves just like plastic in use, but degrades naturally upon disposal. It can be rigid or flexible, matte or glossy. Developed through cutting-edge material science, mechanical engineering, design, and operations, Vivomer represents a groundbreaking step towards a pollution-free future.

The nature of our work is frequently described as impossible, but if like us, you’re driven by the challenge to prove that there is a better way to do things, join us.

About the Role

We're now looking for a sharp, curious, and driven Operations Associate to join our small team and work directly with our founders to help take Shellworks to the next level. If you thrive on variety, love solving hard problems, and get energy from jumping in wherever needed, this role might be for you.

When you join us you’ll:

  • Manage day-to-day execution of operations, including raw material procurement and sourcing, inventory management, logistics and warehousing

  • Play a crucial role in building our supply chain of the future as we scale by identifying new suppliers, and developing supply and demand planning models

  • Aid in establishing and maintaining relationships with global production partners to ensure on-time delivery and excellent service for customers

  • Drive implementation of partner performance monitoring and make data-driven decisions to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall effectiveness

  • Work in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment with a talented and passionate team
