About Us

The Operations Team at Manheim is a core part of the Auction business, covering key areas such as Yard, Inspections, Vehicle Check-in Process and Imaging. Each team member plays a vital role in keeping processes running smoothly to ensure daily operations are efficient, sales meet vendor SLA requirements and outstanding customer service is consistently delivered.

Key Accountabilities

As an Operations Assistant you will ensure the smooth, safe and efficient operation of the yard by managing timely vehicle movements in line with auction procedures and health and safety standards.

What You will Be Doing

  • Organise and display vehicles for auction on behalf of the company and vendors (sellers).
  • Drive vehicles as instructed by your line manager (within your licence entitlement), including vehicles for collection and delivery.
  • Keep the yard tidy and well-organised by safely manoeuvring vehicles.
  • Ensure all vehicles are correctly presented with appropriate documentation i.e. pre-sale literature.
  • Drive responsibly and in accordance with site rules, HSE regulations and vehicle security protocols, in particular vehicle security and the key policy.
  • Support valet, imagery and pre-inspection teams by locating and moving vehicles as needed.
  • Operate entry / exit control points and manage key-holding duties.
  • Assist with ad hoc auction operations and customer service support.
  • Maintain a calm and polite and professional manner with both customers and colleagues.
  • Always follow all health and safety guidelines.
  • Ensure timely vehicle movement throughout the site.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required

  • A UK driving licence.
  • Basic knowledge of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) legislation.
  • The ability to operate the required technology hardware for the specific operational functions.
  • The ability to drive a variety of vehicles with all types of ignition procedures and transmissions.
