Operations and Maintenance Engineer

Worcester, United Kingdom (Remote)

Telent is seeking an Operations & Maintenance Engineer to support highways infrastructure, including maintenance and commissioning activities on major motorways such as the M25, M4, M11, M1, A14, M40, and A1(M). This role involves working in a team to ensure the reliability of telecommunications networks that enable everyday activities like internet usage, travel, and emergency services.

Responsibilities include:

• Attending to cable faults and repairs on copper and fibre optic cables.
• Completing commissioning of equipment to standards, on time and within budget.
• Responding to equipment issues in transmission buildings and roadside cabinets.
• Performing general maintenance, testing, and commissioning of fibre and copper equipment.
• Completing necessary documentation promptly.

Candidate requirements:

• Experience in telecommunications, fault finding, and testing in fibre or copper environments.
• Knowledge of motorway communication systems, copper jointing, and fibre splicing/testing.
• Strong health and safety awareness.
• Ability to repair fibre or copper cable breaks.
• Availability for overtime or callouts.
• Valid UK driving license.
