Job Description:

Operations and Maintenance Engineer based in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, United Kingdom (Remote)

Telent is seeking an Operations & Maintenance Engineer to work on Highways England Contracts, performing maintenance and commissioning activities within designated areas including the top of M25, M4, M11, and bottom of M1, A14, M40, A1(M).

This role involves working with a supportive team and using your initiative to solve problems in the field, contributing to the delivery of critical infrastructure.

What you’ll do:

• Attend to cable breaks and repair copper and fibre cables.
• Complete equipment commissioning to standard, on time and within budget.
• Address equipment issues in Transmission Buildings and Roadside Cabinets, day or night.
• Perform general maintenance and testing on fibre and copper equipment.
• Complete all necessary documentation promptly.

Who you are:

Previous experience in a similar role, with familiarity in fault finding and testing in fibre or copper environments.

Key Requirements:

• Experience with motorway communications or similar equipment/systems.
• Knowledge of telecommunication networks, copper jointing, fibre splicing, and testing.
• Strong health and safety awareness.
• Ability to repair fibre or copper cable breaks.
• Willingness to work overtime or on call as required.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
