Children North East is a large North East based children's charity that works across the region, with some work extending across England, Wales, and Scotland. We exist because growing up can be hard. Children North East is a growing charity working to ensure all babies, children, and young people have the opportunity to grow up happy and healthy. As we develop our next five-year strategy, the Operations and Development Director will play a vital leadership role in driving the quality, growth, and impact of our operational delivery across the North East region and nationally.

The Postholder Will Provide Strategic Oversight Of All Operational Services, Ensuring They Are Safe, Impactful, Sustainable, And Aligned With The Charity's Mission, Vision, And Strategic Objectives. This includes leadership across Children North East's three key thematic areas:

• Therapeutic Services - supporting the emotional health and wellbeing of babies, children, young people, and families through counselling, mentoring, and specialist interventions.
• Communities - working alongside families and local groups to build community resilience, deliver targeted support, and create environments where children and families can thrive.
• Poverty Proofing - helping schools, services, and systems to reduce the impact of poverty on children's experiences by identifying barriers, influencing change, and promoting equality of opportunity.

Working collaboratively with the CEO, SLT, and external partners, the postholder will contribute to influencing social policy and system change to remove barriers that prevent babies, children, and young people from achieving their potential.
