Job Title: Operations Analyst

Job Type: 6-month contract

Location: Glasgow

Hourly: £12.35 PAYE + holiday pay

Opportunity Overview: A fantastic opportunity has risen to temporarily join my client as an Operations Analyst.

My client is a leading global financial services firm providing a wide range of investment banking, securities, investment management and wealth management services. The Firm's employees serve clients worldwide including corporations, governments, and individuals from more than 1,200 offices in 43 countries.

Role Objective: One of the largest divisions in the Firm, Operations, is the first line of defence for my client's financial and reputational well-being and essential in delivering value to our clients. Operations are responsible for correctly settling and recording millions of transactions per day, identifying and mitigating operational risk, developing strong client relationships and partnering with technology to realize the full potential of IT and Automation. Operations have a world-class team of innovative and dedicated professionals, with a unique vantage point in the Firm interacting with all parts of the business, front to back. Responsibilities
  • This role is supporting the day-to-day running of the Firms Internal and External Reconciliation function within the Global Reconciliation Utility.
  • In addition to carrying out daily quality assurance over the function and assisting with continuous improvement and transformation programmes within the department to develop processes.
  • The role will allow capacity for resource to deliver controls key tasks including:
  • Oversight of the offshore vendor performing the reconciliation
  • Execution of tasks directly supporting UK Client Money and US Reserve calculation
  • Execution of ISGPO Margin reconciliations
  • Execution of Equity FX trading, settlement and change of cost reconciliations
  • The role is necessary to ensure appropriate control checks and quality assurance is completed daily for external reconciliations function and will increase overall coverage for the processes executed within the function impacting ISGPO Margin, Client Money and US Reserve calculations.
  • The latter is crucial as regular changes in the regulatory environment mean that the function is constantly evolving to support the needs of the business in protecting client assets suitably.
Requirements
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment.
  • Proactive and self-motivated.
  • Ability to maintain and build excellent client relationships is a priority.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Power Apps (Powebi, Alteryx, UIpath) experience advantageous.
  • Possess a good appreciation of risk both operationally and franchise.
  • Strong problem solving and ability to follow up.
