Job Description:

I am hiring for an Operational Technology Engineer to join one of the largest global medical technology companies on a permanent basis at their manufacturing hub in Plymouth, UK. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced OT engineer with experience managing control systems to join a growing team.

Job Duties

1. Conduct OT asset inventory discovery, management, and asset risk assessments.
2. Support network architecture changes in line with OT security programme policy changes.
3. Drive plant initiatives and project specification, risk assessments and policy adherence activities.
4. Implement protocols to ensure accurate OT device recognition and management ensuring to follow OT policy and guidelines.
5. Lead Cyber-risk awareness and security policy training, enabling the business to maximise system usage benefits while integrating cybersecurity measures to protect data integrity and security.
6. Coordinate OT process/system change management and organise testing or approval of changes. Implement all change requests using the approved methodology, ensuring the appropriate level of authorisation and documentation.
7. Engage in ongoing educational and self-development activities as required by the role.

Key Requirements

1. First class or upper second-class honours degree from a recognised university specialising in engineering disciplines or relevant experience with HND / HNC.
2. Experience in a related environment, ideally medical device manufacture or pharmaceutical.
3. Experience and working knowledge of change control processes within a regulated medical device manufacturing environment.
4. Demonstrated experience with networking, software, and control systems in a related environment.
5. Broad demonstrable experience of Enterprise IT systems, networking protocols and hardware with a keen interest in the OT environment and the interface between the IT and Control Systems Engineering disciplines.
6. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, network schematics (physical and logical) and floor plans.
7. Ability to process, combine, and analyse large disperse datasets to produce meaningful insights.
8. An understanding of Allen Bradley, Siemens and Omron PLC systems is advantageous, but not essential.
