Job summary

Monzo is seeking a hands-on Operational Tax Senior Manager to support the Tax team and wider Finance and Product groups. The role covers customer liabilities and reporting across the UK and Europe, partnering with Product and market teams from the outset.

You will own operational tax, lead compliance and controls, and stay ahead of regulatory changes, working closely with Product, Finance and Legal to embed tax into product design and reporting.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant and/or qualified tax advisor, or senior-level experience.
• In-house experience in operational tax.
• Comfortable working autonomously.
• Detail-oriented and methodical in approach.
• Collaborative with cross-functional teams across Tax, Finance and Product.

Responsibilities

• Own operational tax as Monzo's subject matter expert and advise the business.
• Lead compliance and controls across jurisdictions, including reporting obligations.
• Shape new products by embedding tax into product design and reporting.
• Stay ahead of changes in UK and EU tax laws and translate them into actions.
• Partner with Product, Financial Crime, Engineering, Legal and Finance to solve problems.
