Job Title: Operations Support Officer (OSO)

About the Role

Sodexo Justice Services is seeking a dedicated and professional Operations Support Officer (OSO) to join the team at HMP Forest Bank. This is a critical role within the prison that supports the day-to-day operational functions, ensuring safety, security, and an environment of decency and respect for all.

As an OSO, you will be the first point of contact for visitors and staff, act as a visible ambassador for Sodexo and HMP Forest Bank, and help maintain secure, efficient processes across various functional areas of the prison.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the first point of contact for members of the public, staff, and official visitors.

Provide operational support in key areas of the prison including Gatehouse, Control Room, Visits, Security, and Residential units.

Operate and monitor prison security and surveillance systems to ensure safety and compliance.

Input accurate data into Sodexo’s systems and maintain essential records.

Deliver professional and thorough handovers to incoming staff.

Identify and report any security risks, safety concerns, or operational issues to the Duty Manager.

Uphold and model Sodexo’s behavioural standards at all times.

Key Accountabilities

Support the effective daily operation of the prison in line with all policies and procedures.

Respond quickly and appropriately to contingency situations relating to security or control.

Maintain a visible, professional presence, and demonstrate the values of respect, integrity, and safety in every interaction.
