Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking an Operational Support Engineer to ensure the facility and manufacturing process run at world-class standards. You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot issues and contribute to efficiency, safety and cost-saving initiatives.

The role requires experience with facility maintenance, manufacturing equipment and collaboration across functions, with a possible travel and out-of-hours component.

Qualifications

• Minimum HNC or City & Guilds in an engineering discipline.
• Experience in medical device or cGMP manufacturing is desirable but not essential.
• Experience working in a team and delivering project deliverables is essential.
• Experience maintaining facility and process equipment is essential.
• Role may require travel and out-of-hours work.
• Role will involve working in controlled environments (e.g., Cleanroom).
• Flexible work patterns may be required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain facility, facility systems and manufacturing process equipment to the required standard.
• Participate in multi-functional site projects, taking ownership of actions.
• Use troubleshooting techniques to investigate and repair equipment issues promptly.
• Complete and monitor preventative maintenance tasks.
• Complete and monitor corrective work orders.
• Review and analyse KPIs to drive performance and opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with other departments to improve facility and equipment to deliver changes.
