The Role

We are looking for an organised and proactive Investigation and Enforcement Operational Support Assistant to join the Investigation and Enforcement team on a 12-month fixed term contract. The team is responsible for investigating allegations against barristers and taking disciplinary or other action on behalf of the BSB. In this fast-paced role, you’ll handle a variety of tasks to support the casework of our Investigations and Enforcement team, including:

Organising hearing dates and preparing Tribunal Hearing bundles

Liaising with witnesses and handling correspondence

Drafting letters

Maintaining manual and electronic records, updating databases

Responding to enquiries from both internal and external stakeholders by phone, email and letter.

Key skills and experience required to undertake the role include:

Demonstrable administrative experience skills with high attention to detail

Proficiency in MS Office applications and general IT systems

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and adapt messages for a range of audiences, including at a senior level.

Organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and deliver accurate, consistent work

Ability to stay calm and effective under pressure

Knowledge of the legal profession or experience in regulatory or legal process would be desirable.
