Overview

Would you like to be part of our People Services team as we transform our HR function to support the experience of 145,000 Asda colleagues? Do you have a passion for delivering critical processes across the HR lifecycle?

People Services will be at the heart of ASDA\'s future HR function. As we redefine the way we support colleagues across ASDA, your role as a Time off & Leave Specialist will be instrumental in delivering efficiency, innovation, and excellence across our Core HR processes.

Hours note: 7 day operation, 5 days in 7 worked, 8-6pm service. 37.5 hour standard week. Shifts include 8am-4pm, 9am-5pm, 10am-6pm.

Role purpose and requirements

Are you able to understand the full colleague lifecycle and assess impacts across HR functional areas? Do you have the ability to interpret/apply HR policies and legal frameworks to individual scenarios using best practice to resolve problems?

We are recruiting a Payroll Operations Specialist to support the seamless execution of Payroll processes, terms and conditions, plans, policies, and technologies, and address complex queries related to these processes.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and efficient support for various types of leave and absence plans within the organisation; provide support to colleagues, managers, senior stakeholders and People teams regarding leave entitlements, policies, and absence-related matters.
  • Support execution of the vision and strategy for the end-to-end delivery of services for the Payroll process.
  • Assist in designing and implementing standardised practices and procedures to ensure consistent delivery of services.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels and across People functions (COEs, Business Partners and other People Services teams) as well as line managers and colleagues to deliver an exceptional colleague experience.
  • Analyze business problems in these process areas and provide solutions that fit within the framework and policies of this specialist area.

Required specialist capabilities

  • Payroll systems and other HR technology
  • Strong HR technology proficiency – understands how to get the best out of HR technology
  • Able to understand the full colleague lifecycle and assess impacts across HR functional areas
  • Previous strong specialist experience in an HR Operations or similar role is essential
  • Ability to interpret/apply HR policies and legal frameworks to individual scenarios using best practice understanding to resolve problems
  • Numerate with strong spreadsheet skills to aid use of technology
