Job Title: Operational Risk Manager (2nd Line)

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Operational Risk Manager to join our dynamic risk management team in the 2nd line of defense. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing operational risk within a leading financial services firm. You will play an instrumental part in ensuring that operational risk is properly identified, assessed, and mitigated across all business functions.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in financial services and a deep understanding of risk management frameworks. You will work closely with the 1st line of defense to ensure that risks are adequately controlled, as well as with senior stakeholders to influence and enhance the company's risk culture.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead the identification, assessment, and mitigation of operational risks across the organization.
2. Provide expert advice on risk management practices and procedures.
3. Monitor key operational risk indicators (KRIs) and track risk trends.
4. Conduct risk assessments and ensure that risk mitigation strategies are in place and effective.
5. Work with the 1st line of defense to ensure that operational risks are appropriately controlled and reported.
6. Collaborate with internal audit and compliance teams to ensure risk management processes align with regulatory standards.
7. Lead the development and maintenance of the operational risk management framework.
8. Prepare and present risk reports to senior management, highlighting key risks and recommending mitigation strategies.
9. Drive the development of a robust risk culture across the business.
10. Support regulatory audits, examinations, and assessments.

Key Requirements:

1. In-depth knowledge of risk management principles, frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex risks and propose practical solutions.
3. Proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and effectively communicate risk-related issues.
4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
5. Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively within a team.
6. Proficient in risk management software and tools.
