Janus Henderson Investors is seeking a dedicated Operational Resilience Specialist to strengthen threat detection, continuity planning, and governance across the firm. The role partners with business units, technology, risk, and third-party risk teams to protect critical services and drive improvements.

You will analyze risks, coordinate exercises, and report to leadership and regulators, while maintaining a strong focus on compliance, data integrity, and timely incident response.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of operational resilience regulatory frameworks and guidance issued by global regulators and industry bodies, and experience supporting compliance with resilience-related requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
• Strong understanding of operational resilience, business continuity, and risk management principles, including relevant regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Knowledge and experience to assess emerging business risks, regulatory developments, and industry trends, and recommend appropriate resilience and risk mitigation approaches.
• Proven ability to build effective relationships and communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain resilience, continuity, and risk concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across business, technology, risk, compliance, and third-party teams.
• Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Self-motivated and dependable, with a proactive approach and the ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Strong analytical skills, including the ability to gather, interpret, and present data to support decision-making and reporting.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and deliver high-quality work within established deadlines.

Responsabilités

• Help maintain and improve the firm’s operational resilience program (including processes and procedures).
• Work with business service owners to identify important and critical business services and keep inventories current.
• Help define disruption tolerances and recovery objectives for critical services.
• Document employees, processes, technology, data, facilities, and external providers needed to deliver critical services.
• Assess services for weaknesses, including single points of failure and vulnerabilities.
• Track actions to address weaknesses and report on progress and gaps.
• Plan and coordinate exercises that test resilience of services.
• Record lessons from exercises and monitor follow-up actions.
• Prepare resilience metrics and reports for management, regulators, auditors, and governance committees.
• Collaborate across business, technology, risk, compliance, and third-party risk management teams as the resilience SME.
• Be on-call outside hours for incident response and crisis management.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.

Your opportunity

• Help maintain and improve the firm’s operational resilience program (including processes and procedures) so important and critical business services can withstand and recover from disruption.
• Work with business service owners to identify important and critical business services and keep related inventories and documentation current.
• Help define how long important and critical services can be disrupted before causing unacceptable harm and review their recovery objectives.
• Document the employees, processes, technology, data, facilities, and external providers needed to deliver important and critical business services.
• Assess services for weaknesses, including single points of failure, dependency risks, and other vulnerabilities.
• Track actions to address identified weaknesses and report on progress, resilience gaps, and emerging risks.
• Plan and coordinate exercises that test how important and critical business services would respond to severe but realistic disruptions.
• Record lessons from exercises, assessments, and monitor follow-up actions through completion.
• Prepare resilience metrics and reports for management, regulators, auditors, and governance committees.
• Work across business, technology, risk, compliance, and third-party risk management teams as the organization’s operational resilience subject-matter expert.
• The role is designated as on-call, meaning availability outside of traditional business hours may be necessary to fulfill job responsibilities for incident response and crisis management.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.

Nice to have skills

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, Finance, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Understanding of the financial services regulatory environment and operational resilience requirements issued by relevant regulatory authorities across global jurisdictions.
• Professional certification in Business Continuity, Operational Resilience, Risk Management, or a related discipline (e.g., CBCI, MBCI, ISO 22301 Lead Implementer, CRISC, or equivalent) is desirable but not required.
• Familiarity with industry standards, frameworks, and best practices, such as ISO 22301, ISO 27001, NIST, COBIT, or other resilience and risk management frameworks.
• Experience supporting operational resilience, business continuity, operational risk, technology risk, or third-party risk management programs would be beneficial.
• Experience preparing management information, governance reporting, or regulatory documentation is an advantage.
• Proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools such as Power BI, or similar reporting platforms would be beneficial.
• Experience working within a regulated financial services environment would be helpful.
