Operational Resilience Senior Specialist

The objective of Operational Resilience is to protect our people, customers, and brand by maintaining critical customer services at acceptable levels, responding to disruptions, and adapting to changes. Within Security, Operational Resilience encompasses Incident and Crisis Management (IM/CM), Business Continuity Management (BCM), and IT Service Continuity & Recovery (ITSCM & ITR). These disciplines enable AXA XL to build resilience against risks.

This role manages activities related to the European Union’s Digital Operational Resilience Testing (DORT), ensuring effective implementation, standards maintenance, reporting, and stakeholder updates.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee execution of the DORT Framework, providing strategic guidance and reporting on testing results and actions.
  • Maintain the DOR Testing Framework, manage attestation results, and ensure procedures align with the ICT Risk Management Framework.
  • Collaborate with testing owners across Security, Global Technology, and AXA Group to report on DORT effectiveness.
  • Ensure testing standards are maintained and refreshed annually.
  • Analyze data from dashboards, reports, and evidence to ensure testing quality and scope.
  • Monitor resilience testing activities and document data quarterly.
  • Prepare summaries and updates for executive and governance bodies.
  • Manage escalations, deficiencies, and lessons learned for continuous improvement.
  • Develop and deliver training on resilience testing methodologies.
  • Support compliance with operational resilience regulations across AXA XL entities.
  • Collaborate with risk management, compliance, and audit teams on governance.
  • Support Incident & Crisis Management activities, including threat management and regulatory projects.
Candidate Profile

We seek a candidate with:

  • Bachelor’s in computer science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related.
  • Understanding of Re/Insurance industry and business processes.
  • Experience in advisory, consulting, or audit roles.
  • Expertise in IT & Cyber Security principles and best practices.
  • Knowledge of operational resilience governance.
  • Strong data analysis, trend identification, and recommendation skills.
  • Risk assessment and mitigation experience.
  • Excellent communication skills; fluent in English; other languages a plus.
  • Problem-solving, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
  • Project management skills for multiple concurrent projects.
  • Understanding of relevant regulations (EU-DORA, CBI, FCA/PRA, MAS).
  • IT and Cyber Security certifications (e.g., BCI, ITIL, ISACA).
  • Stakeholder relationship management experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, SharePoint, and report development.
  • Ability to create engaging presentations for executive audiences.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 10%) domestically and internationally.
  • Flexibility to support disaster or business interruption events remotely.
