Description

The Operational Resilience Execution Specialist is responsible for supporting the delivery and continuous improvement of the organisation’s operational resilience framework. This includes driving the identification of important business services, setting impact tolerances, mapping of services, assessing and managing resilience vulnerabilities, and supporting response planning and regulatory compliance. The role works across business units, technology, risk, and third-party management teams to ensure the organisation can withstand, adapt to, and recover from disruptions within defined impact tolerances.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

Support the execution of the operational resilience framework, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and internal policies and standards.

Facilitate identification and mapping of important business services, including dependencies on people, technology, facilities, third parties, and data.

Identify and assess resilience vulnerabilities through data analysis, incident reviews, risk assessments, and business input.

Maintain a resilience vulnerability register; ensure issues are assessed for impact, assigned for action, and managed through to resolution.

Partner with risk and compliance teams to ensure resilience vulnerabilities are managed via formal issue and risk treatment processes.

Monitor and report on the status of resilience-related risks, issues, and remediations to governance forums.

Support the integration of resilience disciplines (business continuity, IT disaster recovery, third-party risk, crisis management).

Promote awareness and engagement in resilience practices across the business through training and collaboration.

Skills/ Experience

The successful candidate will benefit from having:

Several years’ experience relating to operational resiliency

Experience identifying and managing resiliency vulnerabilities through structured risk and issue management frameworks.

Strong understanding of risk management practices including cyber security and how they apply in Financial Services organizations including the impact of regulation on operational resiliency matters

Proven track record in presenting to senior management with excellent written and oral presentation skills

Strong understanding of data analytics and related tools including Power BI

Strong collaboration and communication skills

Strong Stakeholder Management

Ability to drive to execution

Applies knowledge of key business drivers and the factors that maximize department performance

Self-motivated individual operating with minimal oversight
