Job Description:

The Role: This is an exciting time to join ION where you will be joining a specialist team. As our resilience education and awareness lead, you will be responsible for designing and implementing the education of the resilience programme across ION markets, in addition to client and regulatory engagement collaboration. The successful candidate will have a track record and hands-on experience of developing, implementing, and improving the awareness programme for operational resilience. Experience in employee training and awareness to support the maturation of the programme is key. Ideally, experience within a financial services background. The successful candidate will have a creative background with the ability to communicate across all levels. They will be responsible for the education and awareness of the programme, supporting all aspects of resilience best practice, testing, exercising, and programme communications. The role holder will work as part of the Operational Resilience function and will contribute to broader resilience/BCP and crisis management work delivered by the Head of Operational Resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Play a leading role in reporting the maturity of the operational resilience programme and associated risks.
  2. Be versed in setting up and managing employee awareness and training across all operational resilience disciplines.
  3. Create and oversee the training of ION staff regarding Business Impact Assessments, BC Plan creation, and operational resilience mapping.
  4. Develop an annual education programme with maturity metrics and prioritisation of requirements.
  5. Manage the ISO 27001 compliance in coordination with the risk team, ensuring the operational resilience components are met.
  6. Develop client education packs to provide assurance of the operational resilience programme for ION’s key clients.
  7. Own the operational resilience maturity model and define metrics for demonstrating progress and development.
  8. Engage with business and technical stakeholders to create and manage a change management process to support the embedding of operational resilience across ION markets.
  9. Manage the Operational Resilience component of Everbridge (alert notification tool) and undertake call tree exercising and engagement.
  10. Develop, produce, and implement communication layers for operational resilience, such as BCP flyers, crisis management wallet cards, and education and awareness sites/sharepoints.
  11. Contribute to horizon scanning, scenario, and strategic risk analysis to help identify, quantify, evaluate, and plan for potential future risks within the company strategy and positioning.
  12. Collaborate effectively with other senior internal stakeholders and develop escalation frameworks from incident to crisis management across IT, BCP, communication, and vendor management stakeholders.

Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Experience in an education, risk, and/or operational resilience function.
  • Prior experience of developing education and awareness programmes across complex organisations.
  • Creative skills to develop training manuals and support documentation for business and technical stakeholders.
  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to see the bigger picture and understand nuances across different parts of the company.
  • Technical proficiency, including utilisation of operational resilience tools (e.g., Fusion RM).
  • Experience managing call tree exercises and employee engagement.
  • Understanding of ISO standards and aligning awareness requirements accordingly.
  • Creative stakeholder engagement, presentation skills, and experience using varied education methods.
  • Ability to manage the maturity of awareness across different markets and demonstrate continuous improvement.
  • Experience in developing change management and control processes to embed resilience across functions.
  • Experience working with stakeholders from different territories/markets on risk identification and management.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, capable of engaging senior leaders effectively.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity and integrity.
