Salary: £43,000

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday - 37.5 hours a week

Location: Nottingham, NG5 1PB

Job Description

We are seeking an Operational optimisation & Development Chef to join our team

This role is within our Hospitals division, catering for visitors and NHS teams. We prioritize healthy, nutritional food to support patient recovery, emphasizing customer service and nutrition.

This is a national role with a company car provided

Responsibilities
  1. Creating and implementing standard operating models for hospital kitchens, supporting a move to in-house production of key categories
  2. Driving sales growth and profitability through kitchen optimization and menu engineering
  3. Supporting concept launches and menu changes, ensuring successful implementation of commercial activities
  4. Coordinating seasonal pop-ups and concepts
  5. Collaborating with the central team on menu and concept development to ensure market-leading offerings
  6. Providing kitchen and skills training to teams
  7. Researching equipment innovations, commercializing opportunities, and scaling across the estate
  8. Visiting operational units to observe, support implementation, and build relationships with senior teams
Candidate Requirements
  1. Experience managing a food team across multiple sites
  2. Visionary mindset with ability to develop innovative ideas and challenge the status quo
  3. Exceptional attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills
  4. Strong organizational skills and understanding of the culinary landscape
  5. Experience mentoring or managing chef teams
  6. Ability to influence senior stakeholders and deliver presentations confidently
  7. Market awareness including competition analysis
  8. Focus on profitable outcomes and ability to work at pace
  9. Understanding operational realities such as waste management and equipment use
Benefits

Salary of £43,000 plus a company car and a 15% KPI performance bonus.
