Job summary

Verifone is seeking an Operational Manager for Cloud Services DevOps in London to lead enterprise cloud transformation initiatives with cross-functional engineering teams. You will own delivery governance, manage budgets, and coordinate onshore/offshore resources to drive CI/CD and cloud hosting improvements.

The role requires strong DevOps leadership, experience with multi-cloud environments, and a solid background in agile/hybrid delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of managing enterprise-scale cloud transformation or DevOps programmes.
• Strong background working in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery models within fast-paced environments.
• Budget management experience and familiarity with tracking toolsets (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira, MS Project).
• Deep conceptual or hands-on understanding of cloud architecture (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, containerization/Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
• Awareness of infrastructure automation and configuration management tools (Terraform, Ansible).

Responsibilities

• Programme & Delivery Management: End-to-End Ownership of complex cloud, infrastructure, and automation programmes from inception to completion.
• Governance & Reporting: Implement robust project governance, track budgets, manage RAID logs, and report progress to senior stakeholders.
• Resource Allocation: Coordinate onshore and offshore engineering teams, defining roles, workflows, and deliverables schedules.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Facilitate communication between software development, IT operations, security, and external clients.
• Cloud Strategy: Oversee management and scaling of multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Private Cloud).
• Automation & CI/CD: Ensure IaC and automated deployment pipelines using Terraform, Ansible, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
• Operational Security: Embed DevSecOps, compliance requirements, and ITIL frameworks into delivery lifecycle.
• Performance Optimization: Monitor platform reliability, uptime targets (SLAs), and logging/monitoring frameworks.

Verifone is offering a unique opportunity to step into a newly created role and help shape the future of our global cloud operations. As our DevOps Programme Manager, you'll oversee our enterprise-wide cloud services and infrastructure transformation initiatives. You will bridge the gap between high-level business strategy and technical execution. and you will work across cross-functional engineering teams, manage delivery governance, and optimize our continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) and cloud hosting environments (AWS/Azure).

Key Responsibilities

Programme & Delivery Management

• End-to-End Ownership: Take full accountability for the delivery of complex cloud, infrastructure, and automation programmes from inception to completion.
• Governance & Reporting: Implement robust project governance, track budgets, manage RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) logs, and report progress to senior stakeholders.
• Resource Allocation: Coordinate onshore and offshore engineering teams, defining roles, workflows, and deliverables schedules.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Facilitate communication between software development, IT operations, security, and external clients.

Technical & DevOps Oversight

• Cloud Strategy: Oversee the management and scaling of multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Private Cloud).
• Automation & CI/CD: Ensure adherence to best practices in infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and automated deployment pipelines using tools like Terraform, Ansible, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
• Operational Security: Embed security standards (DevSecOps), compliance requirements, and ITIL frameworks into the core delivery lifecycle.
• Performance Optimization: Monitor platform reliability, uptime targets (SLAs), and logging/monitoring frameworks.
