Job summary

South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Operational Manager to support the delivery and development of Audiology and Histopathology Services. You will provide strong operational leadership, work with the Directorate Manager to influence strategic direction and ensure safe, effective patient services.

You will manage day-to-day service delivery, contribute to business planning, governance and on-call rota commitments, and may operate across multiple sites within the Trust network.

Job description

South Warwickshire NHS trust is looking for a forward thinking enthusiastic Operational Manager to support the delivery and development of our Audiology and Histopathology Services. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team within the Clinical Support Services Division., As an Operational Manager, you will provide strong operational leadership, working closely with the Directorate Manager and Service Manager. You will have responsibility for supporting the day to day delivery of the services, ensuring that activity, capacity, workforce and performance is effectively managed., The Operations Manager will support and assist in developing the strategic direction for services within their portfolio, working with the General Manager and or the Directorate Manager to influence the strategic direction for the directorate to deliver safe and effective patient services.

The Operations Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the services within their portfolio, supporting the development of business plans in line with performance frameworks to meet the constitutional standards.

The Operations Manager will contribute and support the governance structures within the Directorate to cover health and safety and risk management. Working with the clinical and nursing staff to ensure robust clinical governance is in place at service level.

The Operations Manager will lead and support job planning for services within the portfolio.

The Operations Manager will provide visible leadership across the services within their portfolio, being the first point of escalation for any deviation to plan, quality measure or financial key performance indicators.

The postholder may be required to deputise as required.

The postholder will be required to be included in the Trust's on call management rota.

The postholder may be asked to work at other sites within the George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust and South Warwickshire University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust or one of the associated community locations as required.
