The Opportunity

Reporting to the Operations Shift Manager, the OLL manages the effectiveness of up to two functional areas or lines at the Middlesbrough factory. They are responsible for safety, food safety, and achieving KPIs related to Safety, Quality, Cost, and Efficiency.

Promoting a safe working environment is paramount; fostering a culture of “safety first” is essential.

  • Developing housekeeping standards, task lists, and auditing compliance to 5S standards.
  • Identifying hazards and reducing risks.
  • Conducting risk assessments.
  • Leading safety culture meetings.
  • Creating SOPs and improving operational processes.
  • Reviewing material usage via supporting systems.
  • Analyzing data and sharing key insights.
  • Performing basic problem solving.
  • Managing KPIs such as OEE, CTP, Q, EHS, and Yield.
  • Ensuring effective communication.
  • Training team members on SOPs and safety standards.
  • Managing inventory protocols.

The Skills you will bring to the team

  • Experience in the food industry preferred.
  • Enrolled or planning to enroll in relevant qualifications (e.g., ILM, NVQ).
  • Basic Food Hygiene and Health & Safety knowledge.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Numeracy and data management skills, including MS Office and SAP.
  • Enthusiasm and a proactive attitude.

Work Location and Schedule

The role is based in Middlesbrough, onsite, with a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.
