Managed by: Development Manager

Salary Range: B6 to B8 (£30,869.70 - £32,394.88, per annum pro-rata)

Hours: 30 hours per week, Fixed term 12 months

Part-Time Maternity Cover - 12-Month Fixed Term (Job Share, 30 Hours/Week)

We are currently seeking a part-time team member to join us on a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover. This role is offered as a job share, working 30 hours per week.

Working Pattern:

Applicants must be available to work either Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday.

Location: Remote/home working with occasional meetings at The Action Group's Prentice Centre Office in Edinburgh. Travel costs not covered.

The Operational Lead manages Care at Home and Housing Support Service operations, focusing on rota management, financial processing, and ensuring high standards of support. Responsibilities include staff scheduling, compliance, team collaboration, performance monitoring, and process improvement.

About the role

Key Responsibilities:

Onboarding:

  • Ensure safe onboarding of new staff with mandatory training, shadow shifts, and record keeping.

Rota Management:

  • Use Access People Planner to create and maintain staff rotas, ensuring coverage, compliance, and work-life balance.

People Leadership:

  • Manage casual workers, oversee training, monitor performance, and support staff wellbeing.

Financial Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate financial records, manage budgets, and generate reports using Excel.

Communication:

  • Facilitate effective communication and regular team meetings.

Business Management:

  • Support resource allocation, work with finance teams, and ensure contractual and funding compliance.

Recruitment:

  • Identify recruitment needs, collaborate with HR, and participate in interviews and promotional activities.

Risk Assessments:

  1. Support risk assessments, conduct audits, and ensure safety protocols like lone working and out-of-hours on-call are managed properly.
