Job description

This hybrid role offers a great balance of home and office working. You'll join your colleagues in your local office at least two days a week, with some travel required to flagship offices such as Glasgow, Milton Keynes, Irlam, and London.

As the UK's largest fibre-only network and its only proven wholesale challenger, we're setting new standards for digital infrastructure. Our network is designed from scratch for the internet, making it greener, more reliable, and future-ready. The products we provide lead the market on speed, value, and service, helping businesses innovate, communities thrive, and supporting economic growth both locally and nationally.

What does that mean for you? The opportunity to improve internet connections and daily life for many people!

Joining us as an Operations Lead - Network Maintenance, you will drive performance improvement initiatives and foster continuous improvement by identifying and closing performance gaps across Field Network Operations. You will develop and deploy the tools and metrics necessary to optimise processes and enhance overall performance.

You will receive a salary of up to £51,000, a car allowance, a performance-related bonus, and a range of benefits supporting your financial, physical, and mental wellbeing.

This is some of what you can expect to do:

  1. Take ownership of change initiatives from conception through implementation.
  2. Drive accountability for continuous improvement actions.
  3. Lead collaboration with other functions to identify and resolve performance gaps.
  4. Engage senior stakeholders to raise improvement initiatives, report on performance, and provide action plans.
  5. Manage KPI tracking, monitoring, trend analysis, and conduct quarterly reviews for senior management.
  6. Lead risk management activities, ensuring risks and issues are logged, managed, and escalated appropriately.

What you'll bring to the role: We are a Times Top 50 Employer for Gender Equality, endorsed by WORK180, and a partner of Diversifying. We are committed to the Armed Forces Silver Covenant, Care Leaver Covenant, and are a Disability Confident Leader. We prioritize diversity, inclusion, and belonging, ensuring our people's voices are heard and everyone feels a sense of pride in being part of CityFibre. You should have proven project management skills with a strong focus on risk mitigation, budget control, and stakeholder engagement. Additionally, you will need:

  • A proven track record of coordinating large, complex projects.
  • Experience devising and implementing effective risk mitigations.
  • Strong ability to develop and manage project budgets and finances.
  • In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies such as PRINCE2 or PMI.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, Project, Word, and PowerPoint.

We are committed to diversity, inclusion, and belonging, and as a Disability Confident employer, we offer support to applicants with disabilities who meet the minimum criteria for the role.

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including 25 days of annual leave, a day off for your birthday, a day off to support a charity of your choice, wellbeing and savings initiatives, private medical insurance, and family-friendly policies.
