1 x Fixed Term contract/secondment opportunity for up to 12 months

We have an exciting opportunity for a person to develop their leadership skills as the Operational 8a for Gloucester mental health services. You will have direct responsibility for the locality teams of Mental Health Intermediate Care, Complex Psychological Interventions and Recovery Teams with leadership and support to later life and Assertive Outreach services. We are looking for an enthusiastic, competent team player to join our other three Operational leads across Gloucestershire. The post is a 12 months fixed Term Contract or Secondment opportunity to be agreed with your current manager. We offer supervision, support and training; the post will be available from 20th June and we can be flexible with start dates.

Job responsibilities
  1. To be responsible for the delivery of mental health teams in a Neighbourhood Locality and potentially wider services in line with Community Mental Health transformation.
  2. To regularly report to senior managers and commissioners on the performance of services, providing expert advice on professional practice and operational issues within the team.
  3. To hold overall accountability for service budgets, with support from Operational Finance Manager and oversight from Deputy Service Director.
  4. To work collaboratively with commissioners and other providers to identify needs, evaluate priorities and where necessary implement the appropriate changes in service delivery.
  5. To ensure seamless episodes of care to service users, ensuring they are seen in the most appropriate place in a timely manner acting on feedback as appropriate.
  6. To support the Service Director and Deputy Service Director of Community Physical health, mental health and intermediate care, on relevant projects/developments across Adult Community Mental Health Teams including policies, performance, service developments and multi-disciplinary team working.
  7. To lead on the development of, and manage the implementation of, service improvements, in conjunction with the Deputy Director of Community Mental Health Services, led by national and local service priorities such as community mental health transformation.
Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Degree or equivalent and masters qualification or willing to work towards
Experience
  • Experience of community mental health secondary care
  • Experience in a leadership role
  • Extensive knowledge, understanding and experience of the delivery of healthcare services in Mental Health services
