Reports to: Renewables Divisional Director

Location: Manchester

Salary: up to £100k with bonus package

Purpose of the Role

The Operational Delivery Director Renewables will play a pivotal role in supporting the companys growth up to £500m turnover by leading the operational delivery of renewable contracts in the business. The role requires a strong operational understanding of utilities to provide assurance that acquired businesses are aligned with the companys standards, systems, and performance expectations, while maximising the value of projects and supporting long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
  • Supporting the Divisional Director for Renewables in delivering operational performance on contracts in the renewable arena.
  • Shape and deliver a strategy that aligns contracts with the companys long-term growth trajectory to £500m turnover.
Operational Integration
  • Deliver the operational performance of Renewable Contracts, Partnerships & joint ventures.
  • Ensure contracts adopt company processes, systems, and compliance frameworks while retaining operational continuity.
  • Work with divisional leadership teams to embed new teams, assets, and contracts into day-to-day delivery.
Governance & Risk Management
  • Establish governance structures for integration programmes to ensure compliance with regulatory, client, and company standards.
  • Identify risks associated with renewable contracts, providing recommendations for mitigation to the Renewables Divisional Director.
  • Report regularly on integration progress, risks, and outcomes.
Operational Support & Assurance
  • Provide operational expertise including assessments of delivery capability, safety, and compliance.
  • Ensure that integration supports margin improvement, efficiency, and client satisfaction.
  • Act as a key advisor to divisional Managing Directors on operational readiness
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Work closely with divisional leadership teams to ensure integration strengthens operational capability and client delivery.
  • Engage with clients, regulators, and supply chain partners during integration phases to maintain confidence and service continuity.
  • Collaborate with finance, HR, IT, and SHEQS to ensure holistic integration of acquired businesses.
Key Skills & Experience
  • Extensive operational leadership experience within utilities specifically renewables.
  • Strong understanding of operational delivery models, compliance frameworks, and client expectations in utilities.
  • Proven track record of supporting large-scale integrations within a scaling business (£500m+ turnover).
  • Commercial acumen with experience in assessing operational performance and risks during due diligence.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with experience working between Executive teams, divisional leaders, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong programme and change management skills with knowledge of best practice integration methodologies.
  • Ability to influence at Executive and Board level while supporting operational teams on the ground.

  • Seamless transition of acquired businesses into company processes, systems, and governance structures.
  • Improved efficiency, margin, and client satisfaction resulting from integration programmes.
  • Positive feedback from divisional Managing Directors and Executive Team on integration support.
  • Full compliance of acquired businesses with regulatory, safety, and contractual requirements.
  • Contribution to business growth up to £500m turnover through effective acquisition integration.
