Our team of Software and Reverse Engineers tackles significant problems impacting UK national security. We are expanding our Cyber Developer team and seek diverse talent, from experienced engineers to those eager to develop skills in this exciting field.

Our projects involve a variety of devices, platforms, and technologies. Experience with mobile (Android, iOS), firmware, Linux, IoT, or Windows is useful but not mandatory; a willingness to learn is most important.

What You'll Be Doing

1. Understanding development methodologies and their fit with delivery approaches.
2. Incorporating operational security requirements into system design, development, and testing.
3. Conducting and supporting code reviews.
4. Adapting to changing customer requirements and priorities.
5. Evaluating and adopting emerging technologies and tools.
6. Developing software following best practices.
7. Identifying and mitigating development risks.
8. Planning testing strategies based on risk profiles.
9. Analyzing problems and solutions.
10. Designing, coding, and documenting software.
11. Overcoming obstacles to deliver quality code on time and within budget.
12. Collaborating to integrate code seamlessly.
13. Implementing continuous integration.
14. Writing and executing test scripts for various testing phases.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

• Familiarity with development tools (IDEs, debuggers, source control).
• Principles of high-assurance development.
• Experience with unit testing, mocking, CI, TDD.
• Understanding of customer domain impacts on software.
• Awareness of IT security issues.

Skills

• Intermediate/advanced knowledge of computer architecture.
• Proficiency in at least one solution language (e.g., C++, Java, C#).
• Proficiency in at least one utility language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Perl, PowerShell).
• Ability to configure and use multiple OS (Windows, macOS, Linux, FreeBSD).
• Quick learner of new languages.

Technologies and Desirable Skills

• Experience with Visual Studio, Eclipse, Git, SVN, Jira, Linux, Win32 API, Posix, Networking, Mobile development.
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
