A local hardware supplier is looking for an administrative assistant to support the wholesale division. You will investigate stock discrepancies, manage supplies, and ensure operational efficiency. Applicants should have at least 2 years of relevant experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential. This position is based in Colchester, UK.

Job description

Purpose: The purpose of this job is to assist in the efficiency and effectiveness of the wholesale division by ensuring all administrative tasks are completed timeously. This will result in achieving customer satisfaction, generating sales, promoting the business, and creating sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Investigate stock transfer errors in the department and liaise with the stock control teams across relevant branches.
  2. Liaise with the stock controller daily regarding stock discrepancies after investigations.
  3. Assist with the monthly error report filing.
  4. Ensure spot checks are performed on department stock takes.
  5. Process pick notes.
  6. Order and distribute staff uniforms and handle related queries.
  7. Replenish refreshments for the distribution centre staff canteen(s).
  8. Place stationary orders and conduct monthly stock takes after bulk order distribution.
  9. Distribute monthly stationary to various departments.
  10. Perform any work-related tasks delegated by a superior.
Requirements
  1. Matric or three completed intercept courses totaling 120 credits.
  2. Brights Induction (Service Excellence).
  3. At least 2 years in a stock-related function.
  4. At least 2 years’ experience in the industry.
  5. Proficiency with internal K8 system.
  6. Planning, time management, and organizational skills.
  7. Effective communication skills (verbal & written) at all levels.
  8. Ability to handle pressure.
  9. Computer skills – Microsoft Office (Internet, Email, Word, Excel).
  10. Policy and procedure adherence.
  11. Accuracy, discipline, and motivation.
