Job summary

J C Bamford Excavators Ltd seeks an experienced buyer to join our Operational Purchasing team at JCB Service, acting as the link between service teams and the supply chain to secure reliable lead times and optimal parts inventory.

You will source and purchase service parts, negotiate pricing, maintain records, onboard suppliers, and collaborate with Inventory, Planning, Customer and Technical Service, and Global Warehouse teams to strengthen our supply chain resilience.

About the role:

We’re looking for an experienced buyer to join our Operational Purchasing team based at JCB Service. You’ll be the crucial link between our service teams and our supply chain, playing a key role in building strong supplier relationships, negotiating the best deals and ensuring our parts inventory is always optimised.

What does this role involve day to day?

• You’ll source and purchase service parts, components and consumables from approved suppliers
• You’ll negotiate competitive pricing, favourable terms and reliable lead times with suppliers
• You’ll maintain accurate purchasing records and track performance against KPIs
• You’ll identify and onboard new suppliers to strengthen our supply chain resilience
• You’ll undertake supplier resourcing activity on a proactive basis
• You’ll build and manage supplier relationships
• You’ll work closely with key stakeholders in the Inventory and Planning teams, Customer and Technical Service and Global Warehouse functions.

This will be suited to you if…

• You have Purchasing experience in a fast-paced environment
