About the Operational Business Lead Role

As Operational Business Lead, within Specialist and Wholesale division within the Professional indemnity space you will play a pivotal role co-ordinating the daily operations of our business, ensuring high-quality service delivery across teams and driving continuous improvement. This is an ideal role for someone who is passionate about operational effectiveness, people development, and contributing positively to the success of a thriving organisation.

Key Responsibilities – Operational Leadership & Process Improvement
  • Reporting into the operations manager of Professional Indemnity in overseeing daily activities and helping deliver operational change.
  • Maintaining and driving efficiencies across the professional indemnity offices in the South
  • Lead, inspire and support operational teams to deliver the highest levels of client service and efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, risk mitigation and operational excellence within the business.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to design and implement best practices aligned with strategic business goals.
  • Oversee daily operational performance metrics and report on progress to senior management.
  • Support change management initiatives that enhance team effectiveness and the client experience.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations and company policies.
  • Champion a culture of inclusion, respect and continuous professional development across your teams.
What We’re Looking For in Our Operational Business Lead
  • Must be a strong communicator who can be flexible and adapt to a fast-paced environment which is constantly evolving and moving forward
  • Experience working in the Insurance sector, ideally within Operational or Leadership roles.
  • Strong understanding of operational processes and best practices within a regulated financial environment.
  • Knowledge of Professional indemnity would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage colleagues at all levels.
  • Proactive, positive approach; able to use initiative to drive improvements and problem-solve.
  • Experience of managing change and supporting teams through periods of transition.
  • High levels of integrity
  • Strong IT skills with Acturis knowledge preferable
  • Occasional travel to London for meetings may be required
Moving forward you may have responsibility for operational admin support roles and therefore previous leadership skills would be advantageous although we are happy to support this progression via our award winning inhouse Learning Team and theleadership courses available.
